A Flock of Young Birders

Nature Salt Spring birders were delighted to see a large turnout of young birders for Salt Spring’s 3rd Christmas Bird Count for kids (CBC4Kids) held on Jan. 4th at Xwaaqw’um. One of our birders, Raazi Ahmadi, a high school student at GISS and a proficient birder is now leading the kids aged 3 to 10 years old. These young ones were awesome spotters, so quick to see birds and excellent listeners, easily hearing the high-pitched calls of the Golden-Crowned Kinglets.
