Wonderful Winter Birds with John Neville

  • Lioin's Hall 103 Bonnet Avenue Ganges, BC, V8K 2K8 Canada (map)

It's a perfect time to learn more about the birds we will see this winter! Back by popular demand on November 16 is another great presentation by Salt Spring’s amazing professional bird recordist and birding authority, John Neville. The event is free and is open to everyone in the community (donations to cover costs welcome) .

John will use his audio recordings and photos of birds to reveal the fascinating winter lives of some common winter birds. He will prove that birding is much more fun, the more we know about the lives and behaviours of our subjects and the better we can identify them by their voices, even though they are hiding in the bush.

John and Heather Neville have lived on Salt Spring since 1998. Their professional recording work has taken them all across Canada and their recordings are available on streaming services and at NevilleRecording.ca. John has frequently presented at Bird Festivals and Naturalist Clubs across Canada.

Mark your Calendars for November 16, 7:00 pm at the Lions Hall. Bring a nature-loving friend.

This presentation is a perfect introduction to the world's largest Citizen Science Research project – the Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Our own local Christmas Bird Count will take place on December 17. Nature Salt Spring would like to encourage all nature lovers on the Island to join this important event, whether you are a seasoned birder or just beginning to observe and enjoy birds. Please join this presentation event and see if you'd like to participate in December.
