Seashore Explorations with Marine Naturalist, David Denning

You’ll be amazed at the remarkable diversity of marine organisms living right in downtown Ganges! –– (Well, maybe not in the town proper, but just off shore in the Harbour.)

This seashore field trip will reveal organisms that live above, on, and below the sandy/muddy Harbour surfaces. We’ll venture out onto the flats  as the tide reaches its lowest. We’ll use some of the tools of marine biology to discover both the common and the unusual organisms that make Ganges their home. Participants will need appropriate footwear (rubber boots) and clothing (layers, maybe rain gear).

David Denning is a marine naturalist and retired educational filmmaker who has lived on Salt Spring for 30 years. This is a prelude to our May-June Nature Extravaganza focused on the local marine Environments. The field trip is limited to 16 people and registration is required - please email daviddenningssi@gmail.com for details and to register.
